I see they have unlimited domains. Also unlimited sub domains?

Version of PHP?

Do you have any regrets going with DreamHost?

Would you recommend it for a hobbyist programmer, who also hosts a “business card” site for both my wife & I (separate domains).

Yes, you can create as many subdomains you need.

PHP 5 and 7, Python 2.7.3 on shared hosting.
