This morning my Python programs that had cgi all just stopped working. Did something change that would affect this? Now I’m just getting a blank screen on even the most basic programs.
To follow up on that. Python programs work. But when I put the command: ‘import cgi’ into a program, it stops working.
For instance, http://www.davidnowell.com/cgi-bin/simple_time.py is a Python program without CGI. So it works fine.
When I add the line import cgi to the program, it stops working.
Not that anyone seems terribly interested, but it turns out that the solution was pretty simple. I foolishly created a test program called sockets.py, and Python was trying to use my version instead of the default socket library that came with it. As soon as I renamed my test program, things were back to normal.
