Public Directory

Hello, I got a fundamental question. I’m following a course about Wordpress. And I’m learning to upload all the files pertaining to wordpress to my server, in this case DreamHost. The course ask me to upload all those files to the public Directory. Here it is, How do I know which is that public directory ? How do I find it ? How do I know what the name of that directory is ? How can I verify that I uploaded those files to the correct directory ?

The public directory is yourdomain.com directory inside the FTP. You can also use the dreamhost one click install in advanced mode to just set up wordpress quickly.
