I have successfully installed a custom php.ini and binary, but now everyone can just access my php.ini from the web by directly calling the cgi-bin/php.ini. Now my concern is that this might be a security problem because everyone can just see how I’ve configured PHP. Would it be possible to protect the directory with a simple .htaccess without removing the ability for scripts to access the custom binary or can the ini be placed in a not directory not accessible by the web?
