Problems with Outlook 2007 & IMAP

One of the users in my office is having problems with Outlook 2007 and Dreamhost IMAP email. She’s the only person in the office using IMAP rather than POP and the problems started when she switched to IMAP, so I’m guessing that IMAP has something to do with the problems.

In the course of reading, replying to and deleting email, Outlook frequently crashes with no error message. I can’t seem to figure out what the pattern is here or what the problem might be. My only guess is that it might have to do with the fact that Dreamhost uses Courier-IMAP and Outlook offers no way to limit the number of server connections cached (like Thunderbird does.)

Has anyone else experienced and/or resolved this type of problem?

Not sure about this, but this is what I found out in wiki

LASTLY, if you are using IMAP, tell Outlook Express that your IMAP folder name is Inbox - or nothing will work.
