I had been using xCache on all my php 5.2.x websites but changing over to php 5.3 seems to cut xCache support out. There’s been a release for xCache and PHP 5.3 for sometime now so I figured, I have and admin account and a dedicated server, install it.
Following the “Build from Source” instructions works up to the point where you need to
I was then going to cat the xcache.ini into the /home/username/.php/5.3/phprc file.
Just can’t get past this point. Do I have to disable Managed PHP to be able to sudo/su with my admin user on a dedicated server?
The specific error is:
mkdir: cannot create directory `/usr/local/php5/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613’: Permission denied
