Problem Importing SQL DB

#1

I recently had to delete a Wordpress website bc of a virus. Here are the steps I took.

  1. Backed up the website by downloading the FTP info.
  2. Backed up the SQL DB with PHPmyadmin via - http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Backup_MySQL
  3. Deleted the entire website from FTP.
  4. Deleted the SQL entries on dreamhost.
  5. Created a new SFTP user that works solely for this domain.
  6. Reinstalled Wordpress with the 1 click software,
7.Logged into PHPmyadmin to import the old SQL file… Here is my problem.
Now that I have a fresh WP installation, I want to restore my old SQL DB and get my info back. When I try to import it, I get this error…

Error
SQL query:

– Database: slimtrimspa_com

– Table structure for table wp_q2icxk_commentmeta

CREATE TABLE wp_q2icxk_commentmeta (

meta_id BIGINT( 20 ) UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT ,
comment_id BIGINT( 20 ) UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT ‘0’,
meta_key VARCHAR( 255 ) DEFAULT NULL ,
meta_value LONGTEXT,
PRIMARY KEY ( meta_id ) ,
KEY comment_id ( comment_id ) ,
KEY meta_key ( meta_key )
) ENGINE = MYISAM DEFAULT CHARSET = utf8 AUTO_INCREMENT =1;

MySQL said:

#1050 - Table ‘wp_q2icxk_commentmeta’ already exists

What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure that you didn’t do it correctly already? those 6 random characters are a kind of salt which is unique to each one-click install. If you did a one-click install, it should have set up the DB for you with a different salt, so restoring from your backup should not conflict with the tables already in there.

Anyway, what you need to is get rid of your database, start a new one, load it up with your backup, then configure WP to use it. That means you’ll need to edit the wp-config.php file. I haven’t done it in a while, bit I think there’s a place where you specify the table prefix which, in your case, will be ‘wp_q2icxk_’
