Starting a few weeks ago my POP3 mail reception from my Dreamhost Squirrel mail started to become intermittent. It had been working flawlessly for years. I changed nothing. Then the same thing stated happening to my wife’s account. Webmail is working fine so Dreamhost says the problem is on our side. The message from outlook is:
Task ‘email@example.com - Receiving’ reported error (0x800CCC0F) : ‘The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).’
I searched the forum a bit but did not see relevant threads. Very mysterious - any suggestions?
Well, it seems that some time in the past few weeks the Dreamhost POP3 account started requiring an SSL connection. I enabled that on all accounts and everything started working fine.
