Point Domain to different DNS?

#1

Hosting frineds site on my account and I think they want to have the site hosted somewhere else. Just received the following instructions: Contact your ISP or Domain Name Registrar to point your domain name to the VistaPrint DNS. In most cases, this can be done online.
You will be asked to provide the VistaPrint Domain Name Server information listed here:
Nameserver: ns3.vpweb.com
IP Address: 69.17.223.103
Nameserver: ns4.vpweb.com
IP Address: 193.79.25.214

Questions:

  1. Where do I go to make the above changes
  2. Does that mean the specific site and associated email accounts will no longer be hosted by DreamHost? Is this basically a request to transfer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it’s registered here, you can change the nameserver entries in the Panel under Domains -> Manage Registrations and then click on that domain. On the next screen, you can modify the WHOIS info to use those two name servers you posted.

The site any anything else associated with that domain name (except the actual registration) will be handled by VistaPrint. It’s half of a transfer. You’re just transferring hosting (where all the files are), but not the Registration (ownership).
