Phprc file to replace .ini values

#1

Hi i’m currently using phprc txt file (dir is example.com/home/username/.php/5.3/) to alter a couple of the php.ini values to:

allow_call_time_pass_reference = ON session.use_only_cookies = 0

These changes aren’t being reflected on the site. Is it possible that they are being looked over?

The path you’re describing for the phprc file looks wrong — the domain name shouldn’t be in there. (The .php directory belongs directly under your FTP root, not under a domain.)

I’m also curious: What do you need these settings for? The second one in particular (session.use_only_cookies = 0) will introduce a security vulnerability.

I’m installing lightspeed web store onto my domain and it calls for these properties or else you can’t install the software. Either way I looked for the php.ini in the root directory, but it isn’t there, neither is the /etc.

I’ve tried changing these in the .htaccess file, but I was told that won’t do the trick, but i really only need the .ini changed for one site.
