Hello,

I am trying to install PHPOpenChat on my shared hosting and when it get to the second installation step, I got the following errors:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ’ ’ (ASCII=12) state=1 in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 2788

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 2788

Can someone tell me what it means? I am not familiar at all with CGI.

Thanks for all your help.

I’m also experiencing something similar to this. I’ve had a lot of experience with PHP but only as an apache module and this has me a little stumped.

To test this hit http://www.pearnuke.org/admin.php and try logging in with anything you like. It happens with any details.

I did find this post in the KB. Will be looking into this a bit more after work. If anyone knows the asnwers are in that KB article a pointer to the comment that fixes this would be cool.

Cheers,
Gold

I get the same problem withg teh exponent cms. The error appears any time I submit a form with the cms. After closer examination, I found that the forms used on the site will submit their data to (<form target="?" ) itself, but the weberver must interpret this as sending to the php cgi script. I’ve been looking around for where to change this in the exponent files, but to no avail. When I get the error you guys get, the url turns out to be "http://nutcates.com/cgi-system/php.cgi?". When ever I call $PHP_SELF in my own scripts, the returned string ends up being blank, so, this may have something to do with it.

Man I wish they used the module :frowning:
