Php5 and max upload problem

I installed php5 so I could increase my file size of my uploads.

If I upload anything more than 7MB, I get timed out in my php downloads/uploads manager.

In php.ini I changed: upload_max_filesize = 7M to upload_max_filesize = 26M

However it still doesn’t seem to be working. As if it is ingoring the php.ini file or something.

Is there something I’m missing?

Support directed me to this:

and I see there are a few people with the same problem.

So I followed the advice there and got “Coandco” down and still didn’t work. Then I tried “Brousch’s” solution and got permission denied.

I am noobie at this stuff so I get lost easy.

Probably aneasier wiki article to start with would have been…

This one doesn’t involve compiling PHP, it simply copies the existing DreamHost PHP install to a sub-directory within your domain.

Are you sure the local PHP install is being used?

Create a php file containing the following line then browse to the file. This will tell you whether your local install is working.

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

I already tried:

I kept ketting no such file or directory. I put the file in

In the phoinfo everything looks fine to me:

I also have a php.ini file in my server root.(outside the domains). Is that supposed to be there?

Any other suggestions?

It looks fine to me also. The correct php.ini is being referenced and the upload_max_filesize is shown as 26M.

I really don’t know what your problem might be, but I am still learning PHP myself, so perhaps someone else can shed some light on what might be happening here.
