Is there any particular reason why PHP’s Internationalization Functions (intl) appear to be unavailable in DreamHost’s PHP installations?
intl wasn’t a standard component of PHP until PHP 5.3 was released. If you’re running PHP 5.3, you can load it in a custom PHP.ini using “extension=intl.so” — it’s compiled by default, but not loaded to save memory.
Ah, of course, custom PHP.ini to the rescue! That works.
Thanks a bunch!
