Permissions in subdomain fewer than domain

I am trying to install the FotoMoto plugin to a subdomain
http://kardianotes.marthavano.com/wp-admin/plugins.php

I was able to install this plugin to a different website that I have hosted with DreamHost but when I tried to install it to Kardianotes I received the following error message:
“You do not have sufficient permissions to install plugins on this site”

what am I doing wrong?

Was wordpress installed as a SIMPLE one-click install? if so you will need to upgrade to custom install before you can install a plugin. The good news is you should be able to re-use the same database and bring your content and settings forward.
