Permissions after oneclick upgrade

#1

Is there anyway to completely remove the backed up directories after doing a one click upgrade? Also, I have a bunch of files with owner 1004 group 1000 that I would like to change back so I can edit/ overwrite them- any ideas?

This can all done via command line through SSH or PuTTY.
rm -rf directory.old (recursive forced deletion)
chown -R owner:group directoryname (recursive owner/group change)

Some FTP clients can also do this. I use Transmit on the Mac, which will do these, but it’s much slower than the command line method.

thanks for that, but I don’t have the permissions. For example rm -rf domain.com.old just returns multiple permission denied errors. Same with running chown- obviously a normal user can not alter an owner anyway.

The commands are not the problem, the permissions are:

Weird. Try submitting a support ticket asking them to chown everything in that directory. While you’re at it, check your new directory’s ownerships.

Support changed the owner back to me today, so I was able to remove them. I will wait and see what happens during the next one click upgrade.

thanks again
