Password protect a page in wordpress

#1

I’d like to set up a private area of one of my WP sites and password protect it.
I’m coming up blank on how to do it? Is it possible or am I barking up the wrong tree?

you can restrict pages to registered users in WP. that’s a standard, built-in feature.

When you edit a page, there’s a Visibility tag in the right column. That tag has its own Edit link. Click that and then set Visibility to Public (default), Password Protected, or Private. If you Password Protect it, you get to choose one password that everybody will need to use to view the page.

Too darn easy.
I’d really prefer if each person could have their own username and password, but this is easy and will suffice…
I was looking for something more complex, never even considered that.
Thanks so much.

the WP ecosystem is quite mature. If you look around, I’m sure you can find a plugin that closely matches your needs.

Try S2Members plugin (great plugin) or simular plugin Members (I think it is called)
