Panel / webmail / etc

#1

Is anyone else not able to access the panel? I havent been able to for quite some time. When I can access it it is incredibly slow. As in 15-45 min per page load.

Also what about squirrelmail? It only happens on 2 of my domains where the menu on the left will load instantly then the message index will take approx 10 minutes to load. I would submit a ticket but I cant get to it in the panel.

If anyone knows anything that can help or an email address that I can submit a ticket too that would be great

I haven’t had any problems, and I’ve been using it extensively over the past couple of days migrating my site from my old hosting provider to dreamhost. Try doing a tracert to panel.dreamhost.com to see if it’s a server/router between you and dreamhost’s server that might be causing the issue.

Tracing route to panel.dreamhost.com [66.33.201.130]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms home [***.***.**.]
2 13 ms 13 ms 13 ms adsl-
-
-**-.dsl.rcfril.sbcglobal.net [...]

14 86 ms 88 ms 88 ms panel.dreamhost.com [66.33.201.130]

Trace complete.

What this basically shows is that there is a big spike in latency (lag) on the Chicago <-> Los Angeles leg of my service, after which it is a straight line to dreamhost’s server farm. And you can also tell that this particular server farm is directly hooked up to Level3.net who owns bandwidth on one of the LA/Chitown backbones.

note: the *** in the first couple of entries is there to obfuscate my real IP address.

I’m jealous! My sbcglobal adsl setup takes as many as 11 hops to get out of the local sbc routing maze (in the Los Angeles area), and you made onto Level 3 in only 8.!

That is wierd, but then again I’m bout 1.5hrs from chicago, so I don’t have to route through all of the chicago routers to reach the pairings gateway. Now that I think about it, it makes sense that in the larger metro areas there would be more internal routing to support a larger number of customers.

I haven’t had any problems. I guess my only problem is the atlantic cable.
