I’ve installed the MySQL ODBC driver, version 3.51.13, but when I try to setup an ODBC data source, I’m getting an error:

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Host ‘xxx.xxxx.xxx’ is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server.

I’m using the same username and password I used to set up the MySQL database.

Can anyone suggest what I should look at? Obviously I have something wrong… :frowning:

Sounds like you’re trying to access your database from outside Dreamhost. If so, then you need to add your IP address, as described in the wiki.

Thanks Scott

I hadn’t found that wiki, no doubt what’s needed.

Cheers, Max

Have created a Windows ODBC User DSN, on test it returns “Success…”

When I try to use this DSN via MS Access 2000, after selecting the DSN, nothing else happens - ie, I’m not getting the list of MySQL tables that I want to link to.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be, please?
