Nonprofit with Painfully Slow Drupal

#1

Hello,

I am trying to run a Drupal site for my non-profit and am miserable on HostMonster. I’ve done some research, and most of what I found was a few years old, but I’ve heard that Dreamhost’s shared servers aren’t up to the task of Drupal.

My site is very small, probably only ever 10 users online simultaneously. However, there are some very complicated queries with views that crash 90% of the time. I have tried optimizing, and every solution I found said it was the host’s fault and it involved MySQL variables I did not have permission to change.
