Hi all,

Users used to receive email from wordpress, f.i. when they forgot their password. Now email from wordpress[at]mydomain.com isn’t arriving anymore. I started to read posts of this forum.

In messages in my Maildir I read: 'Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 5.7.1 Message scored extremely high on spam scale.'
I tried to use the plugin Configure SMTP in different ways, using different email addresses. But: ‘SMTP server error: 5.7.1 : Recipient address rejected: Access denied.’.
Anybody any clues?

I installed the plugin Configure SMTP and activated it.
And I clicked ‘Send test e-mail’.

Error message:
SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: mymailaddress@server.nl
SMTP server error: 5.7.1 : Recipient address rejected: Access denied
One difference: bounced mail didn’t appear in the Maildir.

Next step:
I changed the Sender e-mail ant Sender name in Configure SMTP.
The same error message appears.

Next step:
I changed my SMPT host to mail.mydomain.com.
And the SMTP port to 587.
The same error message appears.

Next step:
• deactivated plugin Configure SMTP
• installed and activated plugin Contact Form 7

I followed the instructions by Savorywatt. And used a different browser and user to check “Lost password”.

The sended message ended up in the Maildir.

Next step: I installed plugin Send From. And changed the emailaddress to webmaster[at]mydomain.com.
When a member uses ‘Forgot password?’ a message is sent but not received.
Any clues?

Have you opened a ticket about this? We do have anti-spam blocks on emails to stop you from sending email from non ‘yourdomain’ email addresses, but the WordPress default ones should be working fine, so this may be something else.

The ticket is from sept, 24.
The mails are coming from wordpress[at]mydreamhostdomain.com. But they don’t arrive.
