Basically, I have very limited knowledge about Hosting, networking and such stuff, but am still interested in making a site.
So far most of the books use your own machine as a server, setting up apache tomcat or glassfish ect, but how exactly do I do the same thing in dreamhost?
Also, I've been looking at a help desk software called Bugzilla from Mozilla, but have diffculty understanding it's installation. Is it possible to run such a thing using dreamhosthttp://www.bugzilla.org/docs/3.0/html/installing-bugzilla.html

You can't administer the Apache service.
To create MySQL databases, use your Panel.
You can add databases under Goodies > Manage MySQL
