New module in newly compiled php4, not showing up

software development

#1

i just compiled php4 according to http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/Custom_compile_PHP_4

and i made two changes to the php.ini to allow a new module, but it doesnt show up using “php -m”

do i need to restart php, with something like “httpd restart” or is that forbidden?

thanks

if you’re using
php -m from the command line, you’re probably still calling DH’s version. use “which php” to find out if you are.

try calling php -m with the full path.

thanks. “which php” gives me: /usr/local/bin/php

is that the DH php or mine?
would it say /home/myname/mydomain/php if it were my new php?

thanks,
m

PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library ‘./swsms.so’ - ./swsms.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

which is the .so i was looking for.

is it that swsms.so is being referenced in my php.ini, but isnt really there… or??

thansk for any help!
