MySQL limit

#1

Do we have a usage limit of MySQL?
And how many people can connect silmutaneously?

#2

There is probably some limit, but I don’t know what that is exactly. Regard simultaneous users, are you talking about users directly connected to the database with MySQL client applications, or through a web interface?

If the requests are coming through a web page, it’s officially only one user. If a lot of people are using the page, caching queries might be an alternative.

Actually, both the wiki articles you linked have this to say about MySQL limits;

“There are no longer any hard limits on conueries for any of DreamHost’s plans. DreamHost reserve the right to have ultra-heavy users curtail their database usage (or switch to a dedicated server), but unless you’ve got a crazy (and crazily inefficient) database-driven site that gets thousands and thousands of visitors a day, don’t sweat it!”
