Mysql corrupt my wiki pages?

#1

Basically I wanted to move my wiki to a new domain. Since i’m on dreamhost it’s easy to share the datebase. After installing mediawiki again it looked ok until I looked at particular pages where the page names are in Korean.

For example, it should originally display:
A/V + (으)ㄹ 리가 없다

but instead it all this gibberish appears:
A/V+(으)ㄹ 리가 없다

heres the url of a particular: http://www.koreanwikiproject.com/index.php?title=A/V+(으)ㄹ_리가_없다

Basically all my titles in Korean have this problem :frowning:

I’m wondering what the problem could be? Did I pick a bad original mysql setup? I noticed during the install on the new server it said:

My wiki is less than 200 articles so far, am I screwed and have to manually copy everything and setup a new better mysql datebase? While I don’t predict a move in the future, I don’t want to run into this problem again.

Anyway help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Edit LocalSettings.php to include this:

Experimental charset support for MySQL 4.1/5.0.

$wgDBmysql5 = false;
