MySQL Admin/Control Center

#1

Hi,

I was just wondering if there is any way to connect to our MySQL databases using the MySQL Administrator and Control Center tools? Usually (on my own server) you just grant privileges to connect from ‘%’ (anywhere) to the user you wish to use to connect from outside the server. However, since this is a shared server, we are not allowed to alter privileges. Is there any other way to accomplish this, or am I stuck with pure command-line MySQL?

Thanks,

See if this link helps. You can use wildcards as well as specifying your current ip address.

You can grant privilages from the MySQL section in your account: https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=goodies.mysql&

Simply modify the database itself and add in the IP address or domain (including wildcards) for the location you want to open your DB to.
