My sites have been down for 24 hours - anyone else

I host 8 sites with Dreamhost. All 8 of them have been down since at least yesterday (12/12) morning.

Support requests have so far gone unanswered. Anyone else having this problem?

I’m getting error id: “bad_httpd_conf” when I visit your listed site. You may be able to fix that by following these instructions.

Thanks Simon, I did actually try using that trick and it didn’t help.

What server are your sites on?

Simon,
Not sure - how do I find this out?

#7

Go to the Panel for Manage Users. Each user has their machine name listed:
https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=users.users&

Thanks Scott.

Looks like they’re all on guile.

Stephen,

There are three “quick” ways to identify your server:

  1. Just log into your shell via SSH (or telnet), and you will find your server name in the prompt.

2)From the Control Panel–>Users–>Manage Users screen, you will see the server name under the “machine” column for the user in whose space the domain runs.

3)From your Welcome to Dreamhost email that you got when your account was activated - the server name is provided so you have a temporary way to ftp prior to DNS becoming active.

Well the server is up, so it must be something specific to your domains. I’m afraid waiting for support is your only avenue.

Thanks Simon, I’ve resigned myself to another day without my sites.

Regardless, many thanks for the help.
