Multi-level sub-domain hosting

#1

I use DH only for hosting, not DNS.

I’ve hosted example.com and test.example.com and they all work fine.

When I add aa.test.example.com to my DH, this came up:

====================================
Site Temporarily Unavailable
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact the webmaster/ tech support immediately to have them rectify this.

error id: “bad_httpd_conf”

Why?

That’s telling you that the server’s not configured properly. Send a support ticket in and DH can take care of you.

Is the sub-sub domain one of the special reserved names?

I’ve fixed this error.
wildcard DNS configured this sub-sub domain to a certain ip, but it seems that DH will assign a different ip when i add a new domain.

Thanks!

Unless you asked DreamHost to enable wildcard DNS for you, and they did it, that statement is not accurate. :wink:
