Hi there

Thinking about getting DO, but there is a few things I would like to be clear about in advance. One of them is, is it possible to mount the DO as partition in Linux as described here

http://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/cephfs/fstab/

and here

http://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/cephfs/fuse/

and here

http://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/cephfs/kernel/

if yes to any of them, which do you prefer, which installation requirement are needed (maybe even a full howto) in CentOS and Debian like systems

Hi,

What you have linked to is documentation for the Ceph File System. DreamObjects is an implementation of the Ceph Object Store. All interaction with DreamObjects is via HTTP API rather than OS filesystem calls. In other words, it’s more similar to offerings like Amazon S3 or Rackspace CloudFiles than a mounted filesystem.
