Max Concurrent Connections Per IP

#1

My website is pretty much a database of audio files for my church and I’ve noticed that if your downloading 2 files it won’t even let me browse the site anymore. I believe this is because my site is currently limited to 2 connections per IP.

I spent a couple hours trying to find a way to increase the connections per IP and all I found was posts on decreasing it. Is it a terrible idea to increase connections per IP? If so does anyone know of a possible work around for this problem? I saw a suggestion to link downloads to FTP, would this solve the problem?

Thanks for any help!

I think it’s because your browser is set to only allow 2 concurrent connections to any given site. What browser are you using?

I’m using firefox. I tried setting network.http.max-connections-per-server to 20 and i get the same thing. Oops just noticed the network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server setting while I was looking! That was set to 2… Doh!

Does it work now?
