Managing disk space

I’ve been looking for someway to manage the diskspace on my account - specifically to allow me to sort folders and files by size so I can locate and remove or modify files that are taking up room unnecessarily. However, I’ve not been able to find anything of this sort. Any one have any suggestions?

Thanks!

ls -S

lists all files in current dir biggest to smallest. Surely that’s not what you’re talking about but maybe?

Unnecesssary files? Don’t be so sloppy! =D (I’m not really one to be talking)

Also to list just the directories in the directory you are currently in you can use:

find -type d ! -name “.” -prune -print
