Maintenance or outage or something else?

One of our sites (the only one currently hosted with DreamHost) is down right now. I don’t have the credentials to access the panel, and can’t get ahold of the person with them. I am posting here on the off-chance that one of the support team can PM me or reach out in another way to point me in the right direction.

And no, I am not currently writing this from the 419, but I understand how it looks…

Nothing relevant on the status page:

I did check there and notice it said: Planned Maintenance in Progress

and saw:

February 8, 2017 10:30PM - February 9, 2017 2:30AM PST

and considered that maybe there was some sort of GMT/UTC mix up happening, although I realize that is a longshot…

Yea it’s still early for that maintenance by like 5 hours. I doubt the UTC mixup because they always use PST even tho that data center is actually located in East Coast time.

Is your site running OS shared hosting out of the east coast data center?

It’s the managed Wordpress plan, but to be honest I’m not sure if it’s in the East Coast DC. The host pings but accessing the page results in an eventual timeout.

which website is down? if you post here, you should share as much details as possible: most readers on the forum can’t (or won’t) try to check your DreamHost customer account.

So far we only know that you have a site on DreamPress that is pingable but the http requests time out… What else have you done to investigate the error? Did you check if httpd is up? is mysql up? Without some details you’ll have to count on DreamHost support to fix things for you.
