I’ve been trying to setup a mail mirror for a domain I’m getting ready to transfer over, and I’ve been having some problems.
Let’s call the the domain I’m planning on transferring over tobex-fered.com. I set up a mail mirror for this domain at mirror.dh-hosted.com, where dh-hosted.com already has nameservers pointing to the dreamhost server. I setup the mirror 24 hours ago.
I have an e-mail address setup for firstname.lastname@example.org on the dreamhost server. I can log into the mirrored account via IMAP, but not by webmail. Also, e-mail sent to email@example.com bounces back with the following message:
Final-Recipient: rfc822; firstname.lastname@example.org
Status: 5.0.0 email@example.com:_Relay_access_denied
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; Permanent Failure: Other undefined Status
Last-Attempt-Date: Thu, 23 Mar 2006 15:40:48 -0000
Maybe I’m going about this the wrong way. Aside from a mail mirror, is there a way to login to an e-mail account on the dreamhhost server when the nameservers for the domain are still pointing to a different server?
