This is a quick suggestion for Dreamhost’s Mail Announce Lists. There’s a little “is this html” checkbox in the message sending form. I am stupid and forgot to checkmark it several times when sending html emails.
It would be nice if automatic form validation would look for the presence of <tags> in the message text. If there’s more than a few tags then throw up an alert to warn the submitter that they appear to be sending html without the proper option turned on.
Another strong cue: if the submitter clicks the “preview as html” link but forgets to checkmark “is this html”. Yes, sadly I’ve also done that.
Thanks for considering this enhancement!
