Lost my admin-password

#1

Hi guys!
I’ve lost my admin-password for my website. I use a Joomla! platform.
Any ideas how I can get a new one?

You could use phpmyadmin from the manage mysql link of the ControlPanel to open your Joomla database.
Then select the user table (jos_user or similar).
Select the user required and edit the record.
In the password field enter a new password and from the function drop-down select MD5 (thanks rlparker  ). Save the record and then you can log-in with your new password which you have now written down in numerous place around your house and on the back of your dogs ear  .

Thanx man… The problem is that when I hit the phpMyAdmin thingy I get asked for user and password. And I don’t remember which of the user/passwords (that I recieved on my email) to use.

If you look through your support history on the ControlPanel you will find the original Joomla message with the access details for phpmyadmin. Or, you could add another user/password to the Joomla database to access phpmyadmin. Or, use another MySQL hostname to access.
