Let's Encrypt for subdomains and additional domains

It seems like DreamHost has a nice setup for Let’s Encrypt with a “one-click” setup and auto-renewal, but I’m curious as to how this works with subdomains and additional domains on an account. It’d be nice to be able to see what the interface looks like before signup, as I might have already signed up had it been adequate.

Hello John, glad to hear you’re interested in Let’s Encrypt certificates.

You can create subdomains and add LE certs to them with a simple click on the control panel.

You create domains, subdomains and get a LE cert with all of them, for free as nature* commands  There are some screenshots and more docs on https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/216539548-How-do-I-add-a-free-Let-s-Encrypt-certificate-

  • well… you know what I mean

HI smaffulli,

I can’t see the option to add a sub-domain here. I only see the top level domains. How do I add SSL to sub domains?

Hi @Jim_Byrne,

If your sub domain hasn’t been added in the panel, please take a moment to view our guide on adding sub-domains to your account:

Once the sub-domain has been added, you can then add the LetsEncrypt SSL certificate:

I hope this helps!

Can I ask how to add an SSL to the webmail subdomain that is created when I create an email address associated with my domain.

I am very sorry but at this time SSL certificates can not be for email domains.
