Lack of Support

DreamHost Support -

Submitted help ticket several hours ago. Due to a hardware issue on your side, my web site has been down for over 48 hours! No email advance notice, no notification of any kind. Now when I try to get help - it’s non - existant, and to make the situation worse - I need to pay if I want to speak with someone. How can you help resolve my issue - would rather not go through the hastle of switching providers but this is ridculous.

Help please!

Hello Andrew,

I apologize for the frustration with our support. We try to answer all tickets within our 24 hour guarantee. I see that our support team replied to the issue about the website you mentioned in your ticket (cmkselect.com) to the email address on file for that account here https://panel.dreamhost.com/index.cgi?tree=support.his& and there are also updates about that known issue here https://panel.dreamhost.com on that affected account. You will need access to that account to view the information.

Our support team is working as quickly as possible to handle the increase in tickets and will update you by email in regards to your ticket as soon as possible. If you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to ask, your patience is appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt C

Matt,

Thanks for the reply. But the issue is still not resolved yet. The issue could have likely been fixed via a simple phone call, but now is taking the better part of a complete day via email. Dreamhost rebooted an apache server which impacted my cmkslect web site. I realize that typically a reboot would not effect service, but it still would have been great to get an an email with this info.

Here’s the error message I continue to get via IE browser when I enter the cmkselect.com url …

"cmkselect.com Coming Soon!

The DreamHost customer who owns cmkselect.com has not yet uploaded their website or has chosen to leave this holding page active.

If you are the owner of this domain, you’ll find your login information contained within the emails sent to you when your account was activated. Once logged in, you’ll be able to delete this page (quickstart.html) and upload your new site.

Here are some helpful links for getting started:"

Best,
Andrew

Your site cmkselect.com is up for me. You might try clearing you cache and/or DNS cache. http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Flush_DNS
