Jetpack stats won't load

wordpress

I have used Jetpack stats on my Wordpress sites for a long time, but since yesterday the “stats” page won’t load, it just tries to load. I haven’t changed any plug-ins or anything at all, and it’s happening to both of my sites which are hosted here.

Ideas?

After doing some digging, I came across this: http://bit.ly/R9CxLO

Have you tried contacting WordPress support about this yet? If the issue doesn’t seem to be on their end, we can definitely investigate for you! Just let us know here, or email us here: http://bit.ly/PfpbbY

Hi, thanks for responding.

That forum thread described my problem, the Jetpack stats page tries to load but never actually does. They suggested de-activating all my plug-ins including Jetpack, and then re-activating Jetpack. I did all that and it didn’t help anything.

I have asked for help on their side, but they are suggesting it could be because the server is taking too long to respond. I’m not much of a techie, so sorry if I’m not explaining well. It just really helps me to be able to see my post stats for each day and I’m frustrated. Ideas?

The server taking too long to respond would be their server. WordPress 3.5 is due out soon, so they’re under heavier load than normal. I’ve seen some of my sites have stats delays too. In fact, they don’t load at all for me on a non DreamHost sever, so I don’t think it’s you or us.

Two thoughts to try.

  1. Turn off the wptouch plugin that you have on both sites, see if that helps.

  2. Turn off Jetpack and turn it back on. That should prompt you to reconnect to WP.com and may kick it in the pants for you.

I disabled all of my plug-ins and then turned Jetpack back on. It didn’t work initially, but about an hour later I tried again and it seems back to normal now on both of my sites. Thanks for your time.

Whew! I’ll pass on that bug to the Jetpack folks and see if it can get narrowed down. Sadly, it’s not something that’s easy to reproduce. It either happens or it doesn’t
