Issues with Redirection

#1

So yesterday I installed MovableType on one of my web sites. The publishing address is mysite.com/blog/ (not really). But when I go there, I get this message that says:
XML Parsing Error: syntax error
Location: http://www.mysite.net/blog/
Line Number 1, Column 1:The requested page couldn’t be found.
^

Now usually on a site when you type in mysite.com/subdir/ it will automatically go to either the index.html, default.html, or index.php and that’s what I want it to do. Can anyone help me?

See if there’s something in .htaccess that’s causing this problem, either in / or /blog. I don’t think that default.html is one of the ones that automatically gets picked up. What’s yours actually called?

It could also be a config error where you’re specifying the base directory of your installation.

I looked at the .htaccess and there was nothing there. I think that I may have figured it out. I installed SilverStripe in the root directory of my web site, and that doesn’t use index.html pages. So I moved that into its own directory and its seems to be working fine. Thanks for the help though.
