Installing wordpress

Can someone please give me some advise. Do I need to pay over at wordpress for an upgrade to use my domain name though your hosting? I am wanting to add plugins and read that I need to host my own wordpress first but I am still not finding that add plugins screen.

FYI, don’t call them just ‘WordPress’, it makes a confusing situation even worse, and yeah, we all hate the .org/.com mess

If you’re using WordPress.COM , and you just want to use us as your domain host, then yes, you have to pay them to use the domain name.

If you want to move from .com to self-hosted here, no you do not. You DO have to move from .com to self-hosted: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
