Image Upload Problem

software development

#1

Hi,

I am trying to upload images from a 3.2 megapixel camera and it doesn’t seem to work, my $_FILES[‘upload’][‘tmp_name’] is empty / blank.

My code does work with a small file (7.14kb) but not with a 2,116kb file. Any ideas how to fix this?

Last time I had a problem with fopen(), a help rep from DreamHost send me info on cURL, I am not familiar with cURL, so if that is a solution will you please give me LOTS of info for how to do it!

Thanks!

You should not need cURL to do an upload. cURL is only needed when opening a file that is preceeded by a protocol, such as http:// or ftp://.

I am trying to upload an image through an http form. So does this qualify for cURL?

#4

Nope. You can use cURL to submit POST data, but since you are using a form there is no need.

will cURL get help me by-pass any upload size limits placed by dreamhost? thats my whole problem is I can’t upload large files.

#6

No. cURL makes use of PHP, and it is PHP that has the 7Mb upload limit. The only way around it is to compile your own version of PHP.
