.htaccess redirect

#1

I thought for sure this line in an .htaccess file in the freerangelibrarian.com/testblog directory would work fine, but it doesn’t. .htaccess is 644 (actually, right now, 755); foo.html and bar.html both work… Hmmm. This is within an MT installation. I’m planning to redirect old RSS feeds to one new feed, but need redirects to work right for this to happen.

Do you see anything boneheaded about this?

Redirect /home/kgs/freerangelibrarian.com/testblog/foo.html http://freerangelibrarian.com/testblog/bar.html

G’day.

I am no expert, but I think you need to make that

/testblog/foo.html http://freerangelibrarian.com/testblog/bar.html

Redirect command (space) the location of the file/directory you want redirected relative to the web root (space) the full URL of the location you want that request to be directed to. (All three parts must be on one line.)

chmod the .htaccess to 644 (or even 604).

All the best -
