.htaccess -- allow my IP only

#1

Hello. I am creating a test website (copy of existing website) and would like to block all but my IP.

I believe that I should use (where xx.xx.xx.xxx is my IP):

order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from xx.xx.xx.xxx

However, I am using an .htaccess file from my existing website that has the following:

#The next line modified by DenyIP order allow,deny #The next line modified by DenyIP #deny from all allow from all order deny,allow deny from all

and

<Files 403.shtml>
order allow,deny
allow from all

My question is, under which part do I put it? , or <Files 403.shtml>?
Thank you for your time.

If you’re blocking everything but your IP then there’s no point having those other rules.

Put them back in once you’ve finished developing :wink:

Thank you, again, sXi. You are (always) so very helpful!
