How to renew Let's Encrypt certificate?

#1

I migrated my website https://soccermoviemom.com to https using dreamhost’s implementation of Let’s Encrypt

I know I have to renew it every 90 days, and the DH wiki says you should write a script to make the renewal automatic.

Can someone provide instructions on how to do this along with a sample script?

It should auto-renew. Mine did.

Are you sure it auto-renewed and that it was Let’s Encrypt? The Let’s Encrypt service only started in February, so why would your cert be up for auto-renewal in 60 days rather than 90 days?

Mine auto renewed about a week ago. Definitely Let’s Encrypt.

Ok, thx for the info. Maybe DH needs to update the wiki. I will ask…

You guys were right. I asked DH Support, and I guess the wiki had updated since the last time I read it. Now it says near the top of the wiki:

Key benefits of using a Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate:

It's free – Anyone who owns a domain can obtain a trusted certificate for that domain at zero cost.
It's automatic – The entire enrollment process for certificates occurs painlessly during the server’s native installation or configuration process. The renewal occurs automatically in the background.

I’d put a link to the wiki in, but according to the dreamhost newsletter that came out today, DH is giving up on the wiki and going to a blog…

Thanks all for your help!

Actually it’s a kb, not a blog. You can find it here: https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us However Googling “knowledge base dreamhost” finds you some pretty old deprecated stuff of an “unofficial” knowledge base from many years ago.
