How to remember HTML Form data after pressing Back button?

#1

Greetings,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to have the browser remember the form data.

For example, if I write a few paragraphs into a , then suddenly press the back button or something, then it disappears and I have to write it all over again, or if they type in the Captcha incorrectly. (very annoying for website visitors).

I’ve seen some websites remember the paragraphs if something goes wrong (press back button or enter Captcha wrongly)

Thanks

I thought that was a function of the browser and its cache. Most sites I visit don’t clear my text when I jump back and forth. It could be that there’s something in your form code that’s forcing the clear.

I think it’s unwise to not clear the CAPTCHA text on the back button, as a spam program may attempt some trial and error until it gets it right.

I’m not sure what could be wrong, here is the code to my HTML form:

Let me know if you see something in the form that is forcing the data to clear.
