How do I update my email address?

I’ve been looking all over the main page for a way to change the email address that dreamhost has on file. I’m trying to transfer some of my domains away from RegisterFly and to Dreamhost, but Dreamhost is sending confirmation emails to an email account i no longer have control over (because RegisterFly sold it to eNom out from under me). How do i change my email address that’s on file when i dont have my old email address?

There are a number of ways to reach the necessary screen to change the email address associated with your account. One of which is to just click the “Edit Profile” link immediately beneath the Dreamhost logo, and to the right of your login name, at the top of a Control Panel screen.

When you do that, it will take you to the “Contact Info” screen of WebID Central where you can change your personal information, including your email address.

You can also get there by visiting WebId Central, and selecting “Contact Info”.


Ha, I had the same problem before. DH always complains that my email address is already in the system and I don’t know how to change it. I almost run out of my email address to sign up a plan.

Just curious : Why do you need to sign up multiple plans? Are you really finding it necessary to use more than one plan with the current quotas?

I’m also wondering if you are not concerned about the TOS, which states, in relevant part, under “Material Services”, paragraph 8. :

I did not want to do that but I have no choice.

The problem is that DH will record your email address when you come to the payment page although you did not make payment. I did not pay using credit card because I felt that the payment page did not look secure. So I just close the page.

When I came back to the page second time. The system complained the email address is already in the system. I did not even realize that I already have a webid. AND even I tried to add a plan in DH panel, I ended up with the same problem, email address is already in the system because it will direct me to the same sign up page.

I had a lot of headache with my sign up. I had no choice but to use different email address at that moment.

Finally I’m now in DH. phew

I understand now. I’d hate to see you opening multiple plans and paying all that un-necessary money while risking a TOS problem. I probably got confused by your post in the other thread about a second domain. :wink:

Now that I understand it took you multiple email addresses to successfully sign up for a single plan, it all makes sense! :slight_smile:

There is no reason to apologize for your English; I just misunderstood. Your English is a lot better than my skill in any other language…which is a pretty common problem for most Americans. :wink:
