#1

Hi,

Is there a way to hide/put up a splash page for a domain while developing the joomla part of the site?

thanks!

You could always use .htaccess to redirect visitors to a temporary page.

Thanks!

sorry - this is a total newb question - then how would I see what I’m developing?

I normally develop a new site on a subdomain before “taking it live”, just like DreamHost did with the new version of the Control Panel.

Then use Joomlapack to move your Joomla from one directory to another.

I find it works great between my shared server and my home machine running Xampp.

I should even suggest you run it locally for development, as it 's soooo much faster. And Joomlapack really automates most of the moving process.

Decio.

There is an option in Joomla to enable maintenance mode or something. Just enable that.
