Help using unzipped .php files in my website

#1

I recently uploaded a php website via webftp to my servers. I am new to administering a website and I’m confused as to why it doesn’t load when I go to www.mydomain.com? It has several .php files in there, including index.php, which is supposed to be the homepage.

Thanks

Jason

Did you put the files in the directory named the same as your domain ?

#3

Yes, I uploaded the .zip file into the directory, which placed all the unzipped .php files in the domain directory. I’m just not really sure what to do next to make them show up when I go to my website.

When you visit www.mydomain.com in a browser, do you see a blank page or a list of files?

Here is a screenshot, hope this helps.

When I load the page in my browser, it says:

Not Found

The requested URL / was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

You seem to have the files in the root of your account, not in the directory with the name of your domain.

#7

You’re correct. I deleted everything out of the root and created the domain, unzipped it all in there, and it worked!

Thanks Erik and sXi for your help!
