Guest book spamming

Does anyone here use Advanced guest book by proxy.de
I am getting spammed quite regularly and Support more or less stated I am on my own.
So I found a tutorial http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=739&txtForceRefresh=11320061918976577 and I am more or less wondering where I really need to place this code. I have an idea, but if some else has already done this, it will be much quicker than fumbling around in the dark.
I should be able to use gd to warp the image some.
I am learning php, so I have some idea how it works, just not positive yet.
Thanks for any responses.
BTW if you click on the link above more than 5 times then you need to register, I just found that out

The link to whatever was there no longer works. If you can point me to what you were looking for so I can see the page myself I might be able to help you. But anyway, are you getting hit by spam bots? That happens to my MT blog all the time so I have to use a blacklist type script. I may see if it’s possible to add a captcha to it (when you get an image with random numbers and letters you have to type in order to proceed).

The tutorial above is for a captcha, but it is a extremely simple one, meaning it does not provide details on auto generating graphic warps, etc. to fool ocr scanning. I like how simple the code is, but it really should have gone a step further. If you can’t access the page then odds are you need to register to see it.
I beleive I am being hit by spam bots as the ip’s are identical or the emails are same or my favorite localhost ip. I didn’t even know they could alter the ip address. The guest book does provide banning of ip addresses and partial ip addresses, but I am banning on a daily basis and now I am not sure if those are legit ips that got banned.

thank you for the link. I bookmarked it so I can study later. But this still does not tell me exactly where I need to place the code in the guest book. I have an idea but not sure.
Since this is a guestbook, sending an email is not required. So it only needs to allow access to the guestbook once they type in the correct answer. Some other thoughts I had was removing the homepage entry field and adding an expression that would give the submitter an error if they place an html tag in the comment field.
