Growing amount of php5.cgi processes

#1

I posted this in the programming forum as well but that doesn’t seem to be a very busy forum which is why I repost it here:

Hi all,

I have zero experience with php as a CGI module but since Dreamhost is basically forcing me to use it I have a question:

I have a growing amount of php5.cgi processes eating to much resources. I can issue a killall php5.cgi to get rid of them but after that they just come back!

Is there any way of seeing what these processes are actually doing? e.g: which php script they’re running?

I have no clue why this happens. I never had any problems with php running as an apache module.

Advice is appreciated!
