Getting Certificate confirmation message

Hi Guys,

in the past I’ve setup my email account with no problems, but then I got a new machine and setup my email account and now I’m receiving this annoying message (attached) telling me that the server your are connecting to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified (Yes/No)
so I clicked Yes and installed the certificate but still getting this message every 20 mins or so?

Thanks

I’m guessing you’re using the your domain’s mail sub-domain (e.g. mail.example.com) for the POP/IMAP/SMTP address?

Unfortunately, that doesn’t really work with secure connects, so you should use imap/pop/smtp.dreamhost.com – here’s the article on the issue:

https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/215306748-Certificate-domain-mismatch-error-when-connecting-to-a-DreamHost-mail-server

You mean putting POP at the front like this

I tried but it didn’t connect,

but it does connect with eg. mail.spacesensesystems.com

Thanks

The recommended way to setup POP/IMAP is to use pop.dreamhost.com or imap.dreamhost.com. The custom subdomains like mail.example.com won’t work correctly for secure connections:
